John Spaun

Executive Director

John Michael Spaun is the executive director for Solstice Senior Living at Lodi. John was born and raised in Southern California. He attended Citrus College and the University of Phoenix, where he majored in business administration with a minor in music and the arts. John’s grandparents owned a nursing home in Baldwin Park, California, where his grandmother taught him everything about the business. John enjoyed the experience working with seniors and became a licensed nursing home administrator in 1997. He is also a licensed RCFE administrator and has been working in the senior care industry for over 25 years.

He and his wife, Dollie, are avid golfers, and John has a 6 handicap. John’s son, JJ Spaun, is a professional golfer and plays on the PGA tour. John also plays guitar and piano.

Jeff Larson

Director of Sales and Marketing

Jeff Larson brings an extensive background in sales, marketing, leadership and business development to Solstice at Lodi. Previously, Jeff played an incremental role in helping companies build customer satisfaction and culture. In his role as director of Sales and Marketing, his goal is to make our residents’ experience the best in the industry.

When he isn’t working, Jeff loves making memories with his family and traveling.

Justin Ortiz

Business Office Director

Justin Ortiz, Business Office Director at Solstice at Lodi, has worked at Solstice for nearly five years. He began as a Concierge, was promoted to Activity Director and is now the Business Office Director. Justin is delighted to work more closely with residents and create meaningful, fun memories with them every day.

Justin is currently earning a degree in computer science from Sacramento City College.

Recklie Hortizuela

Culinary Services Director

Recklie “Ricky” Hortizuela joined Solstice Senior Living at Lodi in 2008. He began his career as a dishwasher and worked his way up to eventually become the Culinary Service director. His main goal is to serve each resident to the best of his ability and prepare amazing food every day. Ricky received his culinary degree from Quality College in the Fresno area. He lives with his wife, Bianca, in the Stockton area.

Monish Prasad

Business Office Director

Monish Prasad found his true calling in senior living at only 18 years old, when he volunteered at an assisted living facility where his mother worked. He is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in international business at Sacramento State University.

Monish has held a variety of roles in the senior living industry, including concierge, server, activities assistant and sales assistant, before joining the Solstice at Lodi team in August 2022 as the Business Office director. Monish plans to continue his career in senior living and aspires to own and operate his own retirement community someday. In his free time, Monish enjoys working out at the gym, spending time with his husky, Loki, and watching and playing football, soccer and rugby.

Emanuel Ruiz

Building Services Director

Emanuel Ruiz joined the Solstice Senior Living at Lodi team in April 2020 as the Building Services director. Emanuel comes to Solstice with five years of maintenance experience, along with two years of specialized electrical experience. Emanuel is originally from Bakersfield, California, and currently resides in Lodi with his wife, Alba. In their free time, Emanuel and his wife enjoy exploring new cities and sightseeing.
